Quality
Window installation is important.
Absolutely true. Quality installation has a major impact on window performance, including ease of operation and the extent of air leakage. Aluminum’s strength, rigidity and light weight make aluminum windows easy to install for maximum performance.
All windows which meet the ANSI/AAMA 101-80 specification are equivalent.
Not True. ANSI/AAMA 101-88 defined a minimum level of performance a window must steel within a given performance category. Some windows just meet the standard, others greatly exceed it. ANSI/AAMA 101-80 assumes proper installation. More over it does not test for long term performance – probably the most important aspect of window performance, given consumer expectation that qualify renovation windows should last at least 20 years.
